Female Doing Kettle Bell Exercise

Are you a little worried that you’re not getting the most from your exercise regime? Do you want to be sure that what you’re doing is working? You need to focus on things you’re doing outside of the gym as well as inside the gym. Try these 8 tips to get the most from your exercise regime:

  1. Eat to Support Your Training

If you don’t eat to support your training, you’re not going to get very far. You need to make sure you’re filling your diet with foods that are good for the body; vegetables, fruits, nuts, and so on. You should also ensure you’re eating enough to keep your metabolism running. Too many people think that starving themselves is the way to go, but this will only slow your metabolism right down and mess up any chance you have of getting an amazing body! You might lose weight at first, but you’ll encourage your body to hold on to fat in the long run. Never a good thing!

  1. Take at Least One Rest Day

If you don’t rest, you won’t grow or develop. You need to take at least one rest day a week to give your body a break and allow it to recuperate. A rest day doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want – just take it easy! If you must exercise, do something low impact, like walking or swimming.

  1. Keep Rest Periods as Short as Possible

The heavier you lift, the longer the rest you need. However, you should still aim to keep your rest periods short so you’re getting as much from them as possible. If you’re in the 15 rep range, you can usually have 1 minute rest. If you’re lifting particularly heavy, you may need to take 2-3 minutes. If you’re just using bodyweight, you can keep it to 30 seconds! You can learn more by reading from this List of Best weightlifting Books 2022.

  1. Make a Mind/Muscle Connection

Always think about the muscle you’re working to get that mind/muscle connection. It’s been scientifically proven that a connection like this helps us to get much better results!

  1. Switch things Up

Switch things up every now and again. You don’t need to make your training too complicated or change it too much. You only need to change it enough to keep yourself challenged and interested in what you’re doing.

  1. Always Challenge Yourself

Always try to lift a little heavier, rest shorter, or go longer. Whatever applies to what you’re doing. If you’re improving week on week, there’s no way you won’t get great results!

  1. Try Different Supplements

Some supplements can help you to get more out of your exercise regime, say Healthy. Fish oil helps to support the joints and stops you from hurting yourself, while a multivitamin ensures you have everything you need in your diet. There are lots to choose from depending on your needs and goals!

  1. Be Consistent

The best way to get the most from your regime is to simply be consistent. Don’t give up, even when you feel like it. You’ll have bad days, but as long as you can overcome them, you’ll be fine!
