Back to work

With the boys going back to school to start years 3 and 5, this has also meant I can get back into work full time as well. For those of you who don’t know, I run a consulting business (KMA Consulting). We specialise in marketing, emarketing, ecommerce, administration tasks and social media.
I have been working in the online marketing game for about 15 years now and I need to look professional, stylish and fashionable when meeting clients and potential clients.
As an Official Target blogger (yes, this post was sponsored by payment and voucher), I was asked to have a look at the Target ‘back to work’ range and tell you what I thought of it.
To be completely honest, I have never bought any of my work wear from Target (Most of my work wear is from Portmans, David Lawrence, Country Road, Brown Sugar and Basque (Myer)) but I was pleasantly surprised. Gone are the cheap and uninspiring suiting of years gone by and replaced by quality, fashionable pieces at reasonable prices. What did I like from the range?

I love this combination. The City Dressing Printed Halter Top – Blue $39 and City Dressing Fitted Jacket – Blue $69 offset by the City Dressing Belted Pencil Skirt – Neutral $49 is just lovely. I have bought the blue jacket, it is incredibly flattering on. I can’t wait to wear it.
I also bought the City Dressing Birdseye Dress With Belt. It was on sale for $29.98! Isn’t the bow belt cute? Being a grey color, the dress can be brought to life with some cute heels, a coloured jacket and some matching jewellery to highlight the accent jacket would be perfect. I also bought a pair of Target Essential Sassi Mid-heel Pumps – Black Patent $20.
I have a thing for peplum at the moment and it is one of the most popular styles of the season.
This City Dressing Ponte Peplum Dress – Black $59 is gorgeous and I love the patent and gold belt. To set off the belt and emphasise the waist, team this outfit with gold jewellery. It will pick up the gold in the belt. Team black patent pumps to highlight the belt as well.
Speaking of my love of peplum, this top didn’t escape my clutches while I was at Target.
The City Dressing Belted Peplum Top – Black $39 can be teamed with practically anything in my wardrobe, from pencil skirts to wide leg pants to even jeans or 7/8 pants, it is such a versatile top.
I have been lusting after this gorgeous rose print pencil skirt for a while and was debating the $49.95 price tag and if I would wear it. Luckily for me, when I bought the above clothing, it was on sale for $24.95. How could I resist? Such a pretty skirt. How cute is it going to look with the above peplum top? I think it will be on high rotation in my wardrobe for a long time.

I am also coveting this beautiful coral jacket. The City Dressing Shawl Collar Jacket – Coral $69 is very versatile. Wear it to work, on the weekends with jeans, nights out over a dress or glittery top, it can be worn so many ways.

Accessories… what would we do without accessories? I saw some stunning earrings and necklaces starting at $3! Yes, you read that right! $3!
Below is the Women’s Pendent + Earrings Set which is only $3. It would look fantastic with the peplum top and would pick up the gold in the belt. Tres chic!

I’m looking forward to the new working year and I hope 2013 is a wonderful year for everyone.

  1. I do love Target’s City Dressing range. The only problem is that now I work from home, I don’t get to wear these pieces as often as I once did – only to the occasional meeting.
