Family fun at Sea World Resort
Gifted
On Saturday morning, we headed off to the Melbourne airport to fly with Virgin airlines to the sunny Gold Coast to stay at Sea World Resort for a few days.
It was a great flight with little TV’s, showing Foxtel channels in the headrests to watch while we cruise the skies. The boys were happily watching Lego Ninjago….well until Mr 11 felt sick and ended up vomiting in a sick bag. Yay!
Once we arrived at Sea World Resort, he seemed a lot better. The rooms were quite nice with two queen sized beds in connecting rooms.
Of course, the first thing the boys wanted to do was head to the pool. So the boys and their Dad headed down to the pool while I sat in the sun on the balcony. It was lovely to actually be warm and get some vitamin D.
By 5 PM, the boys had enough of swimming. After having a shower and getting changed we headed to the Lobby Lounge for dinner. It was lovely overlooking the gardens. The food was delicious and very filling!
After a long day, everyone was tired and the boys were asleep by 8pm. So it was an early night for all of us.
The next morning we woke up to this:
Such a gorgeous day! We had a lovely breakfast at the lobby lounge. We then headed down to the pool again.
By 12.30, the boys were famished so we had lunch at the Waterfall café, which overlooks the pool area. The meals are HUGE! I struggled through my fish and chips and couldn’t eat it all.
At 2pm, we had a tour of Sea World Resort. The amenities are fantastic. The resort has just about everything you could need for a family.
Restaurants, shop, pool area with Sponge Bob water play area, games room, adventure desk, beautiful gardens, kids club and fantastic staff, it really does have everything.
Guests also have access to the Sea World Water Park, which is huge and a lot of fun!
For dinner we went to the Shoreline Restaurant, which is a buffet restaurant. Sunday night was seafood night and the family were in heaven with the variety and amount of food on offer. I think we all rolled back to the room, we were so full!
Upon entering the room, we had found the turn down service had made this guy:
It was very cute and the boys thought it was great.
At 8pm, the Sponge Bob Sound and light show is on and it is very cool. The music, lights and water make it a fun thing for kids to watch (and play in the squirting water!). The boys loved it.
Monday started off with another beautiful sunny day and we headed to the Shoreline restaurant for breakfast. So.much.food. The boys loved the pancake machine. You put in how many pancakes you wanted and out came hot pancakes. Very clever.
After breaky, Mr 9 met Sponge Bob in the foyer. Mr 11 didn’t want too as he is “too old” for such things apparently.
Every morning kids staying at the resort can meet their favourite Nicolodeon characters like Sponge Bob, Patrick, Dora, Diego or Boots.
Next was my favourite part of the time away, we got to see Henry the polar bear! He is soo cute!
We spent the rest of the day wandering around Sea World and had a great time.
5.30 and it was time to offload the boys at the Kids Club. Mr 11 was so excited because the kids club had an abundance of Xboxes and video games to play. I went to pick them up at 8pm and they didn’t want to come back to the room, so I went back to get them at 9pm. They had so much fun in the Kids Club, they didn’t want to leave!
While the boys were in the Kids Club, we had carvery buffet at the Shoreline restaurant. Oh my gosh… the food was divine!
So as you can see we have had an amazing time at Sea World Resort and will probably stay here next time we come back to the Gold Coast.
