WSS Kids: Captain Underpants Best Friend Day! Win 1 of 6 Prizes!
Today is National Best Friend Day in Australia. A special day to honour that person or person’s you call your “best friend”. This day is a time to show them how much you appreciate them, how special and important they are to you and how you cherish their friendship.
Friendship is so important to the development of our kids. Making friends is a vital part of growing up and an essential part of their social and emotional development. Friendships are good for your school-age child’s self-esteem. When your child has good friends, he feels like he belongs. The child has people they can have fun and share interests with. Their friends care about them, and this helps the child feel good about their self. When children make friends, they develop important life skills.
Of course, it is up to us as parents to help foster these friendships by making sure our kids socialise with their friends and more importantly, their best friends, out of school hours.
What better example of friendship than Captain Underpants and it’s main characters, George and Harold. George and Harold are the ultimate pranksters and have so much fun together getting up to mischief. In fact, have a Captain Underpants Best Friends day in to celebrate the release of the Captain Underpants movie on either Blu-ray or DVD.
Why not get the kids together and have a Captain Underpants party, sleepovers or even just an after-school get-together with lots of snacks and fun? Speaking of the movie, if you don’t know what it is about, here is a quick synopsis:
George Beard and Harold Hutchins are two overly imaginative pranksters who spend hours in a treehouse creating comic books. When their mean principal threatens to separate them into different classes, the mischievous boys accidentally hypnotise him into thinking that he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants.
As you can see, it is a hilarious movie and lots of fun for kids and adults alike. I was happy to have watched a kids movie that was light-hearted and funny, without any heavy emotional context or themes (even though the movie has a fantastic friendship theme), as we have seen in recent family movies we have seen.
The movie is new to buy or rent on Blu-ray, DVD or Digital HD .
To celebrate Best Friends Day and the launch of Captain Underpants, we are giving away one pack containing:
