WSS Style Edit: AW16 Trends

celebrity autumn outfits

Stores have had some AW16 Autumn Winter drops in already, although I still feel it is a little early with a lot more warmer days to come. Is summer already nearly over?
Trends for the AW16 season are:

FRILLS – Lots of frills and soft textures, a real feminine touch, high necks and frills along with lace and plenty of texture. This ladylike style is always a favourite of mine, keep it stylish remember less is more when it comes to jewellery as there is a lot of detail to this look.

RED – who doesn’t love a splash of red! Always makes any women look and feel amazing,  remembering the right red tone for your skin and hair. This colour will be everywhere next season, We will be seeing different  red tones, Mulberry, bright red and a mixture of pink and reds.

BOHO – this trend of mixed boho is still very strong. It will be more of a folk bohemian…longer jackets, fringes, detailed patches etc, faux fur, high boots, over thigh boots are still strong next season. So if you had them last winter they are still a bug trend for winter so they are a great buy.

VELVET–  we are seeing a lot of velvet on the international runways, soft textures and in other colours rather than your traditional black. Play around with velvet textures, it always gives such an elegance to an outfit and a lux feel.

HIGH WAISTED – ladies the hipsters and low riders have gone. The high waisted pant is still huge next season, so get out your old high waisted pants and wear them with a beautiful soft textures white blouse or shirt. High waisted pants elongates  the leg and creates a beautiful silhouette.

high waisted AW16

Clockwise: Nobody Denim Tuxedo Pants, Free People High-Waisted Wide Denim Bell Jeans, Riders By Lee Hi Rider Jeans and Mavi Jeans Sheena High-Rise Flares.

PANT SUIT – you can never go working with a well cut structured pant suit, lots of flares and jackets teamed up with a small belt, creating a smaller waist. This trend is also a classic that will be stylish in years to come, so invest in a good quality pants suit and you will wear it for a couple of seasons at least.
