A day for ME

Last Saturday (27th Dec.), I was lucky enough to spend the WHOLE afternoon by myself… yes, by myself… amazing isn’t it? And what did I do, you ask? Well let me tell you all about it!

As the weather wasn’t a too brilliant 22 degree with a cool breeze, I decided it best to wear my denim jacket and I am glad I did, the breeze off the bay was indeed cool! My outfit was a very casual look for pampering and shopping in. Brown Sugar stripe pencil skirt, black top, Target wedges and the denim jacket.
I drove into Brighton for my RedBalloon hair pampering experience and it didn’t disappoint. The hair pampering experience was had at a well known up market hair dressing chain. I was ushered in by the lovely staff and offered tea or coffee. After putting on my cape, my hair director asked what I would like done and what she suggested I have done. We decided to layer my hair, as when I chopped it off for the Beautiful Lengths campaign, it was all one length, thick and didn’t have any body or movement to it. As seen here:

I was taken into the washroom and given the most luxurious head massage. I could have gone to sleep but nope, back out into the salon to have my hair cut and blow dried. There is just something so uplifting about having your hair done, it makes you feel so good about yourself.
Below is the finished look, sorry about my ‘squinting in the sun in my car’ look but I wanted to take the pic straight afterwards and I would look quite..erm… interesting if I was taking selfies in the middle of  Church Street, Brighton.

So after my hair pampering, this is the end result:

My hair is so much lighter and easier to look after (ie wash & dry). It is soft and shiny too. I highly recommend having the RedBalloon hair pampering experience done or maybe give it as a gift to your bestie, sister, Mum or whoever you think needs some pampering.
I’m getting to be a bit of a spender on RedBalloon. For the boy’s Dad’s 40th, I bought him the Lamboghini driving experience and for Christmas, I bought my Dad and his partner a lunch on the Mornington Peninsula for two experience. Both were rapt with their presents and I am sure they will love their experiences, as I have mine.

As a special offer to my readers, Redballoon are offering:

So what else did I get up to, I hear you ask! Well, after my hair pampering, I went up and down Church street popping into the gorgeous shops along the strip.
There is a really fantastic book store (Thesaurus  Books), which I bought the boys the new Diary of a Wimpy kid book, two discovery books (Inventions and Dinosaurs), a book for 8 yr olds and a ‘Play with Clay’ box (which had modelling clay, instruction book and tools). All this for under $50! Reasonably priced school holiday sanity saver for Mum there!
I wandered into Witchery and scoped some cute maxi skirts marked down to $50 but decided against it. I have more than enough clothing at the moment (yes, I know… don’t die of shock with that last statement!).
I did end up at the Kikki K sale (OMG I love their stuff!) and the Country Road sale… so I ended up carrying all this:

After being all shopped out, I popped into Cafe Florentine and had a lovely cappuccino and a small piece of New York cheesecake… yum!!

It was so nice sitting there watching the world go by without a care in the world… I should do this more often!

*Sigh* – I so need to do this. I just realised that I haven’t had my hair done since my youngest was born and he turns one this month!!

It is so nice to just have some ‘me time’ and it is something that we should all be doing more of.

    Perhaps a 2013 commitment to ourselves 🙂
