Summer at Grazeland Melbourne

OK, so Melbourne’s weather hasn’t been the greatest this Spring but it is heating up and THE place to be this summer is Grazeland. Melbourne’s own foodie heaven! Grazeland is kind of a combination of a market and festival all mixed into one exciting food and entertainment precinct.

Situated next to Scienceworks and nestled under the Westgate Bridge (5kms from Melbourne’s CBD), Grazeland is set on an impressive 10,000 square metres. Yes, it is huge! And by huge, we mean 50 plus food vendors, 3 fully licenced bars (Boulevarde Bar, Meadow Bar and Metro Bar), cute non-food artisan shopping stalls (including dog snacks and accessories, clothing, jewellery and a lot more), two entertainment stages and multiple seating areas, which includes a decked area next to the river and overlooking the city (pictured above). At Grazeland, you will enjoy much more than our city’s best food – you get to enjoy live entertainment all weekend! For local headline acts head to The Arch Stage (located next to the Meadow bar), or kick back with their resident DJs at the Metro Stage (next to the metro bar).

The food vendors are set under massive weatherproof, aeroplane hangar style domes (which are great with Melbourne’s unpredictable, four seasons in one day weather). Each vendor has their own repurposed shipping container, that they have designed and customised in their own style and fit for purpose.  Speaking of the food vendors, you would be hard-pressed to find any of the vendors offering the same food. Some of the vendors are the smaller cousins of popular Melbourne fooderies, such as 48H Pizza (THE best pizza in Melbourne. In fact, they won Best Pizzeria in the Asia Pacific and were awarded Number 13 Pizzeria in the world in 2022).

As well as trying Melbourne’s best pizza, you can wrap your tastebuds around food from different countries around the world. Think street food from Asia, Sri Lanka, Lebanon and France, Greek loukoumades and souvlakis, Italian Pizza, handmade pasta, canolli, waffles, ice cream and gelato, Mexican tacos, Spanish paella and churros, African and Argentinean BBQ, Turkish gozleme, Japanese gyoza, tempura, baos and katsu sandwiches, German hotdogs & bretzel and Vietnamese noodles & soups, Chinese dumplings and Indian cuisine. Of course, if they aren’t your kind of thing, you can always have the usual fair of burgers, fish and chips, fried chicken and deli sandwiches.

As well as delicious array of savoury food, if you have a sweet tooth, then Grazland has you covered. Sweet crepes with all the trimmings, souffle pancakes, churros, Greek lokmades, doughnuts (pictured below), cookies and thick shakes and my personal favourites; Chimnutz doughnut-based pastry filled with ice cream and Stix frozen cheesecake on a stick. Both of these are to die for!

Grazeland is located at 20 Booker Street, Spotswood (next to Scienceworks) and is accessible by car (free parking is available onsite or you can pay to park at Scienceworks), public transport and even cooler, by boat! The Williamstown ferry service stops at the Spotswood jetty, right in front of Grazeland or you can try the Westgate Punt that runs between the Scienceworks Jetty, Spotswood Jetty and Westgate Landing (Lorimer St Low Landing) and Lorimer Street Port Melbourne.
