What to Watch on Streaming This November

If cinema isn’t your thing, or you’d rather stay in and put your feet up, November has plenty to keep you busy at home. There’s a new comedy from a much-loved Aussie, the return of a few big series and a handful of films that make a good Sunday afternoon.
Here’s what I’d add to the watchlist, platform by platform.
Stan
Stan has some of the month’s most talked-about titles. Unskilled Adult arrives on 1 November, with a double-episode premiere before new episodes drop weekly. Hamish Blake and two famous friends try their hand at real jobs they’re completely unqualified for, which is a treat if you’ve missed Hamish and Andy on TV. The Stan Original The Assassin returns for a second season on 6 November, with all episodes available at once. The Good Daughter arrives on 13 November, and The Hunting Wives returns for a second season on 26 November, starring Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman. If you loved the first season, you’ll know exactly what to expect.
Netflix
There’s plenty to choose from here. Black Doves returns for its second season on 5 November, with the full season available. The Body lands on 11 November, and the Australian film Allen follows on 12 November. On 19 November, The Altruists arrives, a drama about the crypto world and Sam Bankman-Fried. The Mosquito Bowl is a new Netflix film arriving on 25 November.
Netflix also has a heap of well-known movies added this month. The Hobbit trilogy arrives on 1 November, and Interstellar and Transformers One join on 5 November. It Ends With Us lands on 6 November, and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie arrives on 8 November, which is handy for a family movie night.
Disney+
If you love a feel-good comedy, Abbott Elementary returns for its sixth season on 5 November. Rivals is back on 11 November, with new episodes weekly after that. On 12 November, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County starts, a spin-off with a new group of young mums. Percy Jackson and the Olympians returns for its third season on 20 November, a good pick if there are teens in the house. And if you’re a Marvel fan, VisionQuest continues to release new episodes every Wednesday.
Prime Video
For fantasy fans, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns for its third season on 11 November, picking up five years after the events of the second. Aussie actor Charlie Vickers plays Sauron. Then on 25 November, Blade Runner 2099 arrives, set 50 years after Blade Runner 2049 and starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer.
BINGE, Paramount+ and more
Amy Poehler returns to TV acting in Dig, a comedy she co-created with Michael Schur of Parks and Recreation fame. It follows a team of archaeologists, including Australian actress Geraldine Viswanathan, who make a rare discovery that leads to an international conspiracy. All episodes arrive on BINGE on 23 November, so it’s a perfect binge. If you like a period drama, The Gilded Age returns for a fourth season on Paramount+ on 2 November. Apple TV’s Stick is back for season two on 4 November.
