You Won’t Believe Just How Much Owning A Pool Can Transform Your Life

Pools are the preserve of the rich and the famous, aren’t they? Not anymore. If you’ve got a backyard, you’ve got everything you need to install your own little drop of ocean, right on your back door. Here are some reasons why you should consider having a pool. Take note, swimming fans.

Water is one of the best natural stress relievers in the world. According to science, just the mere sound of water can put us at ease. Many people find that by getting into the pool after a hard day at work, they immediately feel more relaxed.

Better Fitness

Keeping fit can be hard, even for the most dedicated women. So that’s why it’s good to have facilities, right on your doorstep. Swimming is an excellent way to exercise. Swimming gently for half an hour can burn more than 200 calories. And if the water is cool, that number goes up even more.

It Enables The “Staycation”

Each year, women spend vast amounts of money on holidays. They look for the best holiday location, trying to find which resorts have the best pools, among other things. But when you think about it, what are women really paying for? They’re paying for a couple of things: good weather and access to water. Swimming pools might not be able to replicate the culture of a location. But they can certainly substitute one of the raw ingredients of many people’s perfect getaway. Fancy saving some money over the long term? Get a pool, and stop paying just to spend hours lounging around somebody else’s.

Add Value To Your Home

Although you’ll need to do maintenance, like vinyl liner pool repair, it’s not true that pools detract from the value of your home. In fact, they add to it. The National Association of Realtors recently did some research, discussing the value that owning a pool added value to a home. They found that pools boost the value of a home by around 5 percent. That translates to $50,000 on a home worth $1 million. Even today, adding a pool can still be an investment, especially if you happen to live in the right area.

Host Community Events

Not many people have a pool. But it’s a great resource for the rest of the community. Many people who own pools get involved with the local church or community and organise activities. This then helps them build stronger links to the people around them and boosts their status. Hosting pool events might not be for everybody. But it’s worth a shot, right?

Everyone Will Want To Come To Your House

Depending on what type of person you are, this could be a good thing or a bad thing. If you’re the sort of person that just loves to party, a pool is a party magnet. Pools and well-maintained backyards provide the perfect setting. If you’d rather chill out by yourself, then you can do that too, of course. Just be prepared for people to make not-so-subtle hints about pool parties if they find out you’ve got one.
