WSS Style Edit: 8 Ways To Wear Ankle boots

Every girl should have those go-to ankle boots that she can reach for, especially when you aren’t sure what to wear, as they go with everything!

Not only do ankle boots keep you warm, the right pair looks chic no matter what you’re wearing, and they’re (almost always) comfortable. Plus they’re even more versatile than knee high boots!

During the colder months, ankle boots look amazing with jeans, or a skirt or dress with tights. During warmer months, you can get away with wearing the right pair of ankle boots with shorts or a dress.

Here are our eight different ways to wear ankle boots:

1.Cuffed Jeans

This trend has been around for a while now and looks great when you team ankle boots with cuffed boyfriend jeans.

2. Skinny Jeans and Leggings

On a winter weekend, slip into your favourite pair with skinny black jeans or leggings on and an oversized chunky knit with a pair of ankle boots and you will look stylish but warm and comfortable.

3. Dress

Dresses can look really cute teamed with a pair of ankle boots. It doesn’t matter if the dress is short, midi or maxi in length, they will all go with a pair of ankle boots. The basic rule is, the higher the rise of the boots, the shorter your skirt or dress should be, as the wrong balance can make you look frumpy or shorter than you are.

4. Pencil skirt

The most important thing about ankle boots is making sure they flatter your leg line. So with low-cut boots, the smallest part of your ankle is visible, and with pencil dresses, the thinnest part of your leg (just below your knee) is visible. This style of boot, even if it doesn’t have much of a heel, will keep your legs looking long and lean.

5. Cropped pants and shorts.

A slim pair of cropped pants looks fantastic with a pair of ankle boots. Similar to cuffing a pair of jeans, a pair of cropped pants shows off your ankle boots and can look very streamline and stylish.

6. Midi skirt

Midi skirts are effortlessly chic, especially when it’s paired with cool ankle boots to give a bit of Parisian touch. Pop on a pair of cute ankle boots, wear it with midi skirt and layer up for your chilly days attire.

7. Monochrome

black on black

This is a very “Melbourne” look and one I can say I wear regularly. Black jeans, opaque tights or leggings look fantastic with black ankle boots as it elongates the legs and makes you look taller and thinner (and who doesn’t want that?).

8. Maxi Dress/ Skirt

The key to pulling off this look is to not show any leg, as it can look a bit meh and make you look bigger than you are. A fuller skirt with a hint of leg will create an upside-down triangle look, making your top half look bigger.

What do you think of the ankle boot? Which is your favourite way of wearing them?
