Golden Globes 2015. Who, What, How?
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the 72nd Golden Globes 2015 for the last time last night. The key trends of the night were; side or middle hair parts, sleek updos, smokey eyes, pale pink lips, metallic hues, a lot of monochrome and of course, the Pantone colour of the year, Marsala.
Who were our picks for the best dressed?
1. Anna Kendrick
Anna was simply stunning in a Masala hued gown by Filipino designer Monique Lhuillier. The sleeveless V-neck gown had ruby beading and embroidery down to the flowing skirt.
2. Kate Hudson
Ms Hudson showed off her amazing figure in a stunning Versace full length, fitted, halterneck gown with diamonte cut outs. Donatella Versace is the master of crafting gowns that bare a great deal of skin whilst eschewing a tacky aesthetic, and with Kate’s scraped back hair, natural make-up and limited accessories, she absolutely nails it.
3. Jennifer Lopez
45-year-old singer and actress Jennifer wore a stunning Zuhair Murad gown with a plunging neckline to the awards ceremony. Although she has been critised for going against the “only flaunt one asset” rule with a revealing V neck and thigh high split, we can say JLo pulled this look off and looked amazing. The colour was perfect for her.
4. Helen Mirren
The ever-so-classy dame Helen Mirren looked stunning, as usual, in an embellished Dolce & Gabbana gown. Paying tribute to the victims in the Charlie Hebdo tragedy, the Hundred-Foot Journey actress paid her respects to the Charlie Hebdo editors and cartoonists killed in Paris this week with a fountain pen attached to her gown with a pin.
4. Alam Clooney
The newly Mrs George Clooney was the picture of perfection for her awards ceremony debut, in a black one-shoulder Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, that featured a sweeping train and revealing cutouts at the back. Alam’s white gloves and matching clutch were a tribute to the Charlie Hebdo tragedy, as was the pin attached to her clutch.
5. Naomi Watts
Beautiful, Australian actress Naomi Watts shone in a yellow Gucci gown with a stunning Bulgari serpent necklace. Classic chic!
6. Kate Beckinsale
Kate looked dazzling and breathtaking in this Elie Saab creation.
7. Allison Williams
The Girls actress’ bright red beaded Armani Prive dress was beautifully styled with old Hollywood hair and make up
8. Jessica Chastain
Jessica stunned in a plunging, liquid dress by Atelier Versace and diamond Piaget earrings.
9. Amy Adams
The beautiful and funny Amy Adams looked fabulous in a single-shouldered pale grey blue Versace gown.
10. Diane Kruger
Diane shone in an Emilia Wickstead silver gown.
Honorable mentions to Julianne Moore in Givenchy Haute Couture, Sienna Miller in Miu Miu and Dakota Johnson in Chanel Haute Couture.
