Lana Del Rey, the 29-year-old, American retro 60s style pop singer, whose songs such as “Summertime sadness”, “Young and Beautiful” and “Blue Jeans” has cemented her as one of the top artists of recent times.
Del Rey has described herself as a “self-styled gangsta Nancy Sinatra”; and cites Britney Spears, Thomas Newman, Eminem, Elvis Presley, Antony and the Johnsons, and Kurt Cobain as her musical influences.
As well as being incredibly talented, she has been described as a recluse and “eccentric”, having found fame and interest in her private life difficult to deal with.
And on Saturday TMZ reported that the 29-year-old has taken another step towards securing her privacy – relocation. She recently acquired a $3million beachfront property in Malibu, California, as a way to escape overeager fans who could too easily reach her at her current home, with one fan recently found in her backyard. We presume this was the tipping point of wanting a secluded residence.
Lana’s been living in the ritzy Hancock Park area of L.A. which has been too accessible to fans, some of whom would camp out on her street.
Real estate sources told TMZ, Lana’s new 3 bed, 4 bath (no, we haven’t worked out why you need more bathrooms than bedrooms either) beachfront home is 2,860 sq. ft. and is completely surrounded by rocks, which means no neighbors or pesky fans invading her privacy.
For the area, a 3,000-ish square foot house on the beach isn’t outlandish. In fact, it would be a lot more if it were on a sand beach and a little further up the coast.
She plans on fixing up her new home and a remodel is in order.
