NEXT Melbourne
Lighthouse Foundation presents NEXT Melbourne – a celebration of our next generation of artistic talent. Showcasing an amazing assemblage of fine art, graphic design, cutting edge fashion and music, the evening will incorporate an assortment of works at the MARS Gallery on November 14.
Lighthouse Foundation invites Melbourne to come together to enjoy an evening of exceptional art, fine food and drink, great music and most importantly, a whole lot of fundraising!
Celebrating the next generation of young Melbourne ‘creatives’, this first-time event supports young up-and-coming artists whilst also raising much needed awareness and funds for Lighthouse Foundation.
Whilst perusing an impressive range of works including fine art and creative design pieces, guests will enjoy exquisite food and beverages whilst listening to fantastic live entertainment.
There will be music performances by The Sirens, Oscar Lalor, Chloe Maggs, Yeo and Chris Scalzo, and fashion shows displaying the latest collection from designers, Adam Tsen and Oscar & Wild. There will also be a number of visual artists displaying their work including Jeremy Kibel and Santina Amato.
This is truly a night of celebration and culture, all in support of Lighthouse Foundation and the incredible things it does to for young people.
In Victoria alone, 45% of homeless are under the age of 24. Lighthouse Foundation provides these people, who have often come from backgrounds of neglect and abuse, a safe haven and the chance to rebuild their lives.
Lighthouse Foundation founder Susan Barton emphasises that providing homeless youth a place to stay is just one element of the Foundation’s program. She suggests that offering young people the avenues and networks necessary for them to succeed is where the true benefits are realised.
“NEXT Melbourne was created to ensure our next generation of youth are given every possible opportunity to break the cycle and reach their full potential.”
“As our next generation, we need to ensure these young people are surrounded by strong support networks to encourage their growth. Through an amazing collaboration of art, design, fashion and music, the evening demonstrates that when given the opportunity, young people are willing and ready to explore their ability to make positive life changes,”she added.
Ambassador for NEXT Melbourne and Lighthouse Foundation, Jo Stanley (Fox FM) said,
“I am thrilled to support Lighthouse Foundation and NEXT Melbourne. This is a wonderful occasion to support up and coming talent all while raising money for Lighthouse Foundation and its programs.”
Gold-medal-winning Paralympian and NEXT Melbourne ambassador Kelly Cartwright added, “There should be more events like this one. Given the chance, young people have so much to show and offer. I am so excited to be involved and support this fantastic event and organisation!”
NEXT Melbourne tickets are $100 and all proceeds from the evening will go to Lighthouse Foundation, assisting disadvantaged young people and helping them to find their way.
