WSS Style: Navy Is The New Black
We are thrilled to see that navy is a prominent style trend this Spring and Summer. Navy flatters more skin tones yet is just as sophisticated as black. Navy doesn’t draw out your skin’s colour like black can. It’s also a better alternative to black, as it’s less harsh and carries an air of sophistication. Yes, seriously, it is the new black!
Wear it head-to-toe — unlike bright colours, this colour looks good on almost every woman, is flattering and slimming and makes a subtle statement — or break it up with other colours such as a white top under a navy blazer or light knit, or pair navy with another wardrobe colour staple: camel or tan. This classic combo is laidback, but also super chic.
Navy can be a great basic colour to add neutrals to for a classic, sophisticated look or add bright colours for a pop of interest.
Think trench coats, wide leg pants, tapered pants with fitted blazers, floral skirts and dresses, cardigans over coloured or floral dresses, sheer shirts with tapered pants, jeans with nautical tops; the choices are endless as navy goes with just about anything.
Dark blue colours can also make most eye colours pop, especially if you have green and blue eyes.
