But there is always one aspect that slips up a lot of female entrepreneurs. And that is being productive while working at home. This doesn’t come naturally to many people, especially if you have spent many years working in an office. However, there are many ways to increase your productivity at home. Create A Space For Your Work

Ideally, you should convert a spare bedroom into a dedicated home office. If you don’t have the room for this, simply turn a quiet corner of your living room into a work area. It doesn’t have to be too big; you just need enough space for a desk.

Clear Away Distractions

This may sound like such an obvious point, but you will be surprised at how many women still fail to take away distractions from their work area! There shouldn’t be any TVs, books, or magazines in your home office. You just need your laptop and any publications that are relevant to your line of work. If you don’t get rid of distractions, you will find it all too easy to procrastinate. It is also a good idea to get all the housework done before you start a new week. Otherwise, you may find yourself doing the ironing to get out of work.

Take Lots Of Breaks

Are your eyelids starting to feel heavy? Can’t remember the last time you had a drink? Then it is time to step away from the computer screen and give yourself a break. The more breaks you take, the more motivated you will be when you sit back down at your desk. They don’t need to be too long. A five-minute break every hour will do you wonders. And it can also prevent your eyes from getting too tired after staring at a computer screen for hours!

Focus On One Thing

Sure, we women are excellent multi-taskers.  But that doesn’t mean you have to multi-task. In actual fact, you will find it easier to concentrate and get on with your work if you only focus on one thing at once. There are some hacks that can help you stay focused on just one task at a time. For instance, play some quiet background music while you work. You will be amazed at how well music helps you to focus! Not sure which task to focus on next? Use some organisational apps to stay on top of all your deadlines. This will prevent you from ever feeling flustered by work!
