Taylor Swift’s new video for her single “Blank Space”, from her hugely successful 1989 album, has been leaked and it is a doozy. The gorgeous and multi talented star has another hit on her hands and a “controversial” video to boot.

Poking fun at how the media portrays her as a man eating, crazy, obsessive girlfriend/ ex girlfriend, Taylor turns the tables around and has made the media her bitch in this very clever, funny and well thought out video.taylor-swift-loses-mind

Typical to a Taylor Swift love song video, we see Taylor looking every bit the glamorous star in stunning dresses (the Woman of Style and Substance office would love all of them!), set amongst a beautiful mansion with manicured to perfection gardens and a tall, dark and handsome love interest, of course. However, the romanticism and glamour soon becomes a forgotten memory as Taylor turns into a psychotic jealous girlfriend.

You can view the video below:

“She knows that there’s this meme that if you date Taylor Swift, you’re going to end up getting a song written about you,” director Joseph Kahn told Rolling Stone magazine. “She wanted to address that”

“She is truly an entertainer,” notes Kahn, who previously helmed Britney Spears’ “Toxic” and Muse’s “Knights of Cydonia.” “To be able to invest herself so fully into such a villainous character shows how much of a great entertainer she is.”

We had to laugh at the disclosure on the video “No animals, trees, automobiles or actors were harmed in the making of this video”. Yes, we almost cried when Taylor was damaging the Aston Martin!

You have to give Taylor credit for a) poking fun at herself and b) addressing the rumor mill and haters… as Taylor said in “Shake it off”, haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate and I’m sure the haters will find a way to pick faults and criticise this video.

What do you think of the video? Are you a Taylor Swift fan?
