MURKANI is an Australian bohemian chic jewellery company, who creating beautiful items with durable materials in a sustainable way.

The collection features originally designed, handmade jewellery, crafted from sterling silver and semi-precious stones. The stunning collections are whimsical and folk inspired with design influences taken from ancient art, architecture and textiles of exotic locales such as Morocco, India and Turkey…with an emphasis on creating statement pieces that translate into today’s contemporary lifestyle.

The collections feature earrings, necklaces, stretch charm bracelets, bangles and delicate cuff bracelets.

MURKANI is created by Kiralee McNamara, a Melbournian living an adventure in Saigon, Vietnam with her husband and 3 little girls.

All Murkani jewellery is designed by Kiralee McNamara, in Saigon and then made by very talented artisan silversmiths in the hills of Ubud, Bali and by the Karen Hill tribes in the northern hills of Thailand. The home for the brand is in Melbourne where Kiralee works with a lovely Melbourne based team and will return soon.

With a love of jewellery from an early age, Kiralee coveted pieces from her grandmother’s collection in her pre-teen years……followed shortly afterwards by her fimo faze (do you remember that!? My Mum had heaps of it!),creating pieces in the shape of gum leaves and nuts and selling it to craft stores. Needless to say, these weren’t the best sellers! Years later, however, the call to design jewellery returned after having her first child…and she handmade pieces while little Holly, her first born was sleeping. But it wasn’t until she moved to Vietnam with her husband and 3 young girls in 2011 that she felt the time was right to leave her corporate career behind and begin the new venture that has become Murkani.

We think Kiralee’s drive to produce beautiful, ethically made jewellery, run a success business while living overseas, having a base in Melbourne while rearing three small girls is amazing and she is definitely a Woman of Style and Substance.
