WSS Home: Adairs Skin Rejuvenation Pillowcases Review and Giveaway

It is a well known fact that silk pillowcases can be good for your hair. Silk pillowcases are said to minimise flyaways, hair dryness and helps to make a blow dry last a few days longer. The reason behind this is, unlike traditional cotton or flannelette pillow covers, silk pillowcases don’t suck the moisture out of your hair and because there is little drag between the silk and your hair, the hair doesn’t mess up and you wake up with less kinks and  flyaways.

As well as looking after your hair, the silk (and similar material) pillowcases can assist with anti-ageing and combating wrinkles. Yes really! You see, because the silk doesn’t absorb the moisture from your skin, the moisture stays in your skin which leaves your skin feeling softer and smoother. If you use night moisturising creams, the cream stays on your skin, not absorbed into your pillowcase! How many of you have woken up with red, dry, scratchy skin and lines on your face from your pillow?

A revolutionary new product on the market, is Tencel C. Tencel C is known for it’s silk like properties with chitosan. Chitosan is a substance already used int he cosmetic industry known for it’s ability to retain moisture, it’s cell regulating properties, skin protection benefits and antibacterial effects (which is great if you still get the odd break out!).

Who does it work, I hear you ask! Chitosan is extracted from the shells of crustaceans and then applied to the Tencel C fibres, which is then embedded permanently into the pillowcase. How clever is that?

The chitosan creates a protective barrier on the skin, which encourages wound healing and expedites tissue regeneration. If skin is too dry, it wrinkles and cracks and can even cause skin problems like eczema and infections.

Did you know that 60% of us sleep on one side night after night?  There’s a problem caused by this; prematurely ageing on one side of the face. Who doesn’t love the thought of actually getting beauty sleep while you… well… beauty sleep?  As you can see from the main picture, I have the rejuvenating pillow cases in “String”. Please excuse the wrinkles in my doona, I did iron it… twice! Once before putting it on the bed and while it was on the bed, still wrinkled. *sigh*

I have been using the rejuvenation pillowcases for a week now and I have noticed a difference. Since using the rejuvenating pillowcases, I don’t have any lines or puffiness and my BotanicsES moisturiser seems to be working better than before (I think my cotton pillowcases were absorbing it). A nice bonus is that my hair seems to be lasting longer between washes (you should wash your hair once or twice a week, especially if you have dry hair (like myself). Any more and it strips the oils out of your hair). Would I buy them again? I already have! I bought two more in “snow” to go with my white sheets.
