3 Enneagram types you should know about

One of the biggest challenges that most people face is that of self-awareness. Many people go through life without knowing who they truly are.  This can stand in the way of achieving one’s full potential, achieving happiness, or even getting along with others. It’s also the reason why people turn to the supernatural in the search for identity. However, that doesn’t have to be the case. There is an easy way to figure it all out, and that’s the Enneagram. This is a tested and proven approach to understanding ourselves and those around us, both psychologically and emotionally. The enneagram approach is divided into 9 types, and your personality type fits in one of them. To give you a feel of this approach, here are 3 Enneagram types you should know about.

1.    The Reformer
People who fall under this category are perfectionists and very purposeful in what they do. They also happen to be idealists. They also have a basic desire to be good at what they do. When it comes to their fears, their greatest fear is that of being evil or being perceived as evil. The best part about them is that they are always to achieve the best in whatever they do. This makes them perfect to work with, especially when working on projects that have tight deadlines. That’s because their desires to be the best will push them to deliver. However, like all other personality types, reformers have their fair share of issues. Their biggest issue is that they are very inflexible and can be a pain to work with. That’s because they are so self-righteous, and tend to think that only their way is right.

2.    The helper
People who fall under this category tend to be very self-conscious. They are very afraid of being unwanted. That’s why they spend their lives trying to please others, and are also very possessive. The greatest desire for people who fall under this category is to be loved. These people make great friends. That’s because they strive to please those around them, in order to be loved. However, like all the other Enneagram types, they also have their downsides. The biggest one is that they are very manipulative, in a bid to seek sympathy. This is unhealthy because it makes those around them feel like they owe them something.

3.    The Achiever
These are the people who probably achieve the most financial success in life. That’s because they have a fear of being worthless, and are always striving for success. Their strongest point is that they are self-assured, and have a very high self-esteem. They are also very authentic and are loved by those around them for their modesty and charitable nature. However, they also have their downsides. People who fall under this category can be very opportunistic and extremely jealous of others. This comes from their fear of failure, and the need to achieve the best in everything they do. This aspect of them can lead to conflicts if you don’t understand their personalities.
