The Alliance Française French Film Festival

The Alliance Française French Film Festival returns for the 35th instalment of its diverse and unique programme of French cinema, from a range of film-makers, genres and styles.

Melbourne Food and Wine Festival

One of the tastiest highlights on Melbourne’s major events calendar is the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival. Spread across 10 days from March 15-24, it’s a massive celebration of the city’s, and the state’s, innovative and effervescent food and wine scene.
The annual festival is a celebration of eating and drinking in Australia’s food capital, and as always its upcoming rendition is set to deliver a bumper program of pop-ups, chef collaborations, long lunches and Fed Square bakery takeovers.
There is plenty of exciting homegrown and local talent on the jam-packed 2024 line-up, including Dan HongNeil PerryLauren Eldridge, Ellie Bouhadana, Joel Bennetts and Michael Greenlaw.
This year, the international talent set to descend on Melbourne for the festival’s Global Dining Series is exceptional, too. The series will see the likes of ex-Noma chef Garima Arora, Italy’s Sarah Cicolini, Michelin-starred chef Kanji Kobayashi, Hanoi’s Sam Tran, Chicago’s birria king Jonathan Zaragoza, and London’s Noble Rot founders all collaborating with some of Melbourne’s top venues and chefs for outstanding events. International Flower and Garden Show

Melbourne is set to blossom once again as the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show from the Wed 20th March 2024 to Sun 24th March, presented by Scotts, transforms the World Heritage-listed Carlton Gardens and Royal Exhibition Building with dozens of breathtaking horticultural designs to ignite visitors’ senses.

The Great Hall of Flowers will bloom bigger and better than ever with new floral displays and competitions, while the Landscape Design Show Gardens will unveil nine incredible gardens with international flair. In the forecourt, visit the Urban Forest with floral arrangements, a DJ, food and drink, and workshops.

On the Friday, visitors can experience the show under a whole new light as Carlton Gardens transforms into a captivating paradise for the Gardens by Twilight experience, complemented by a new selection of cocktails and tapas in the High Tea Lounge. Chicago the Musical

The longest-running musical on Broadway, this scorching hot masterpiece stars Anthony Warlow as Billy Flynn, Zoë Ventoura as Velma Kelly, Lucy Maunder as Roxie Hart, Peter Rowsthorn as Amos Hart and Asabi Goodman as Matron ‘Mama’ Morton.

Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition

One of the most famous tragedies in modern history, the story of the Titanic and its ill-fated maiden voyage continues to enthral, educate and break hearts more than 110 years after she sank to the bottom of the ocean.

Collect your boarding pass and embark on a journey to explore the powerful stories of those who travelled and worked onboard the legendary ship.

This is the only exhibition in Australia to feature more than 200 real artefacts, recovered directly from the wreck site. F1 Australian Grand Prix

One of Melbourne’s premier events, Formula 1® Australian Grand Prix™ draws massive crowds to the Albert Park Grand Prix™ circuit each year. Scheduled across four days from March to April, there’s plenty of high-octane fun to enjoy trackside and around town.

Melbourne has been hosting this event, as part of the Formula 1® World Championship, since 1996 when the Australian Grand Prix™ moved from Adelaide. Formula 1® is now signed to race in Melbourne for a further 10 years from 2025 to 2035, guaranteeing the city’s motor racing legacy for at least another decade.

This annual event spans a four-day track schedule, jam-packed with live practice, qualifier and racing events on the Albert Park Grand Prix™ circuit. A semi-permanent track, the circuit was upgraded for 2022 to deliver even more overtakes and more high-speed action.

Tessalar Kabloom

International Comedy Festival

If you’re in Melbourne this autumn, you’re in for a laugh, with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival taking over the city and beyond from 27 March to 21 April with its laugh riot of stand-up comedy, cabaret and street performances.

Catch major national and international acts, along with up-and-comers that just might go on to be the Next Big Thing. Comedians like Rhys Nicholson, The Mighty Boosh, James Acaster, Geraldine Hickey and Hannah Gadsby have all taken home awards for the Most Outstanding Show.

AFL is back for a new season. The opening round of the AFL sees some of the biggest matchups & exciting rivalries come to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane & the Gold Coast to kick off the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. There is plenty to do around Melbourne for Easter.
