Ryan Gosling A Disney Prince?

It’s the question of the week, ladies. Will Ryan Gosling star in Disney’s upcoming ‘Beauty and the Beast’ live-action adaptation?

Emma Watson (of “Hermione Granger” fame) has officially announced via Facebook that she’s ” finally able to tell you…that I will be playing Belle in Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast!”

As of yet, it’s still just a rumour that the hunky actor is Disney’s top choice to star as the lovable Beast, but as of now the studio will not comment on the casting rumors.

A new report does claim that 34 year old Ryan has been offered the role of Beast, opposite Emma Watson, but nothing has been confirmed.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ will be directed by Bill Condon (Twilight – Breaking Dawn, Dreamgirls), and has been confirmed by the studio as a “live-action interpretation”.

Walt Disney Pictures first announced plans to make the movie back in June 2014, and production is set to begin sometime later this year.

Though it hasn’t been officially announced, we know that there will be singing, thanks to Emma Watson, who announced (with the news that she’d signed to the role of Belle) that she’ll get to “dance to ‘Be Our Guest’ and sing ‘Something There’.”

So far, no other casting has been revealed, so we’ll just have to hold our breaths and hope that new dad, Gosling, does indeed become a Disney prince (because you all needed another reason to swoon over him!)

And if it is true, and Ryan scores the gig? He has plenty of musical experience. He sang “You Always Hurt The One You Love” to Michelle Williams in ‘Blue Valentine’, and there’s even footage of him singing “When A Man Loves A Woman”, in 1991, before his Mickey Mouse Club days.

Let the breath holding begin!
