Celebrity hairstylist and Joico rep Jonathan Colombini has shared some great tips on how to recreate three stunning Oscars hairstyles.

Colombini knows what he’s talking about as well, having worked with Laura Prepon, Fergi, and AnnaLynne McCord previously.

JULIANNE MOORE’S PERFECTLY CHIC CHIGNON (NAPE OF THE NECK)

Colombini says that his best look of the night award should be given to the ever classic Julianne Moore.

The best actress winner has what he calls a regal, classic, yet modern look.

How to:

Emulsify a generous amount of Joico Heat Set on to your hands and apply to towel dried hair – Heat Set protects your hair from the heat and give you that smooth blow out – then proceed to blow out the hair with a boar bristle flat brush. Add a clean side part, sweep the hair into a ponytail sitting at the nape of the hair & securing with a bungee. Take the ponytail and twist, roll and tuck to form and shape a bun. Secure with hairpins. Lay down any fly-aways and add great shine with a misting-spray of K-PAK Color Therapy Dry Oil Spray. Finally, spray with Joico’s Power Spray Fast-Dry Finishing Spray to set the look.

NAOMI WATT’S SOPHISTICATED WAVES

English-born Australian actress Naomi Watt’s always looks good on the red carpet, and her sophisticated waves were just as fitting for after party fun, with the effortless yet chic tousled look fitting in all round. Colombini claims she gets runner-up status for best hair do.

How to

After blow drying using Joico’s Power Whip whipped foam from root through mid-shaft and ends, into the hair to protect and smooth, add a side part that’s just a bit off from center. Take about 1/2 inch in diameter subsections and wrap around a barrel curling iron, hold for about 5 seconds. Unwrap without dropping the hair from your hand. Slightly pull down the hair from the ends to relax the curl and get a much looser wave. Continue throughout the entire head. Use a bit of Joico Matte Grip emulsified on the palm of your hands, adding it through the hair in a raking motion to give that “piece-y” look. Finally spray Joico Humidity Blocker to block any frizz, so your “piece-y” waves are still shaped and perfect for a red-carpet night.

Extra tip:  “Adding the ear tuck gives the look that perfect amount of chicness that is to be expected on the red carpet – it’s something so simple, yet it can change the look and feel of the style entirely!,” Colombini claims.

CHRISSY TEIGAN’S LUXURIOUS WAVES

Rounding out the top three Colombini nominated Sports Illustrated model Chrissy Teigen and her equally gorgeous waves.

How to

It’s always best to do this kind of style on day-old hair. Then to freshen up the hair, simply spray Joico’s Instant Refresh Dry Shampoo. This will keep the hair looking clean as well as build texture. “You’re going to essentially do a roller set either with hot rollers or with the curling iron,” Colombini explains.

Once the hair has cooled and set, remove the rollers from the hair.  Mist Joico Texture Boost Dry Spray Wax on the bristles of your boar bristle flat brush, then proceed to brush out the set. This will pull out the curl to the shape of a loose finger wave. Now mold and form the hair to your liking. Finish with Joico’s Power Spray Fast-Dry Finishing Spray to set the look all night but keep that touchable feel, even as you dance the night away like Chrissy did with her Oscar Award-winning hubby, John Legend.
