WSS Celebrity Style Edit: Olivia Palermo
Thinking of a style icon today and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t mention Olivia Palermo. The socialite, model and business woman is regularly featured in ‘best dressed’ columns. We think Olivia’s down to earth and classic sense of style and looks that anyone can pull off is part of our fascination with her.
Olivia is best known for her role in The City (which was a spin off of the hit series, The Hills. Who else loved that show? I did!). As part of the show, Palermo worked in the PR department for Diane von Furstenberg and later the accessories department at Elle Magazine. The second part of the first season debuted in September 2009. She was given a bigger role and more air time. The City returned for a second and final season in 2010, in which Palermo was given reporting duties for Elle.com.
The show led to a modelling contract with Wilhomena models and numerous covers and sponsorship/ brand ambassador roles.
In October 2011, Palermo launched her personal website, which consists of a blog about her travels and fashion pieces she writes along with two full-time writers.
Whether Olivia is sitting front row at Fashion Week or walking around New York City in her ballet flats, hair in a ponytail with her husband Johannes Huebl or walking her dog Mr Butler, she always looks polished and stylish.
Here are a few of our favourite looks by Olivia with carefully chosen pieces, so you can pull together yourself:
Casual chic-
For classic elegance, you cannot go past a pretty white shell top with a floral skirt and Olivia’s signature shoe, the ballet flat.
Here we have teamed a gorgeous Dorothy Perkins shell top with a New Look floral skirt and silver ballet flats from Styletread.

A smart blazer and heels can trasform any outfit into a dress or formal outfit. Olivia made this look more modern and on trend with a pair of cullots and a metallic clutch to pull the outfit together.

Summer whites:
You can never go wrong with a crisp white dress on a hot summer’s day. The statement necklace adds some colour and interest to the outfit. Comfy ballet flats are fantastic for running errands in but also add classic style.
