Berlei x BCNA Pink Bra Collection
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and, for me personally, it is an incredibly important cause to support, as I lost my Mum 10 years ago to metastatic breast cancer and one of my gorgeous friends to the same horrible disease a few years after my Mum.
Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. Over 20,000 Australians are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. That means approximately 57 Australians are diagnosed each and every day. 1 in 7 women are diagnosed in their lifetime.
In 2022, over 3,200 Australians will pass away from breast cancer (including 30-40 males). Approximately one woman under the age of 40 is expected to die each week from breast cancer.
Berlei together with partner Breast Cancer Network Australia, are encouraging all Australians to support those affected by breast cancer.
As part of this initiative, Berlei has released a Pink Bra collection, with $10 from the sale of each bra donated to BCNA to ensure those affected by breast cancer can receive the best care, treatment, and support.
Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is Australia’s leading breast cancer consumer organisation. They have worked tirelessly to ensure that all Australians who are affected by breast cancer receive the very best care, treatment and support available. BCNA’s role is to advocate for, connect, support and inform those affected by breast cancer. They also work with the broader network to influence and create a stronger healthcare system.
Berlei has been a proud partner of Breast Cancer Network Australia since 2005 and has donated over 180,000 My Care Kits to Australian women who’ve undergone breast cancer surgery. Berlei is committed to pioneering products, backed by ongoing research and development, that offer support to those affected by the disease.
Together, Berlei and BCNA understand the practical challenges for women diagnosed with breast cancer and have pooled their technical knowledge and expertise to develop a unique and complimentary My Care Kit for women to use post-surgery and during radiation treatment. It includes a custom bra designed specifically for the patient to wear up to 6-12 weeks after surgery.
