David Bromley and Robert Gordon Collaboration for Myer

Renowned Australian Artist, David Bromley and Australia’s largest production pottery, Robert Gordon have collaborated to produce a limited edition range for Myer.

Australian favourites have collaborated for Myer gifting Australian consumers the opportunity to own a piece of Bromley artwork alongside Robert Gordon’s coveted quality ceramics.

The range of 51 collectible pieces hero’s Bromley’s famous butterflies, birds and painting boy prints on a mix of custom designed mugs, plates, jugs and even a children’s set. Each piece is made from high-fired stoneware and gift boxed in unique Bromley packaging.

“I am predominantly known as a painter but I did start out as a potter. In the mid 1980s I had a pottery studio under a tree in South East Queensland. Whilst painting and sculpture are now my dominant passions, pottery is in my heart and soul and always will be. Pottery formed my life!” says David Bromley on working with Robert Gordon.

David Bromley is one of – if not the – most recognisable artists in Australia, having done portraits for Hugo Weaving, Kylie Minogue, Kate Waterhouse and more. He’s known for his distinct whimsical style and his work has landed him as a finalist for the prestigious Archibald Prize six times, among many other accolades.

Not only is Robert Gordon a household name when it comes to pottery, it’s also the go-to for many of Australia’s iconic restaurants around the country, including Bondi Icebergs Dining Room & Bar in Sydney and Vue de Monde in Melbourne. The family owned and run business is also one of Australia’s last large scale potteries and have been manufacturing high fired stoneware for over 75 years.

“We take enormous pride in what we do and this collaboration is especially close to our heart as David has been a friend of the family for years. It’s taken a while to perfect the finished product with my dad, sisters and brother – I’m so glad we can finally share it with everyone,” says Sam Gordon, son of Robert Gordon and head of Sales and Marketing.

The collection will be exclusively available through Myer from February 2020. Each piece is priced reasonably between $9.95-$99.95. The range is microwave safe, and hand washing is recommended.
