End The Year Happier, Healthier & Wealthier With These Simple Lifestyle Changes
Now is the perfect time to mix things up and start making some simple changes. To help you to do that, I thought that below I would share a few suggestions. Take these on board and you can start the new year feeling happier, being healthier, and having more money in the bank.
Cheats to become happier
Happiness is linked to stress, so if you want to be happier, you need to reduce your stress levels. A great way to do so is by taking up meditational exercise, such as yoga. By practising yoga, tai chi, or Pilates three to four times a week, you can slowly reduce your stress levels and improve your happiness.
Another simple way you can improve your mood is by making your home a space that you love. Far too many of us have homes that we don’t enjoy spending time in, and because of this, don’t feel happy. Believe it or not, updating your home and making it a nicer space doesn’t have to be a struggle, all it takes is a few well-thought-out accessories.
Hacks to be healthier
A simple way to become healthier is to quit an addiction that you have. Whether you’re someone who likes to have one too many cocktails on a Friday night or chain smokes throughout the day, now is the time to put an end to it. Just think how nice it would be to go into the new year without having to worry about quitting your addiction?
Another way to be healthier is by exercising each day. This doesn’t have to be a long period; it could simply be 30 minutes each day, but you’ll be surprised by how much difference it makes. Whether you choose to go for a half an hour walk or hit the gym, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you’re getting 30 minutes of exercise each day. Do this, and come the new year, you’ll be in the best shape of your life.
Ways to become wealthier
You may think that this is the most difficult of the three to do, but it doesn’t have to be. Becoming wealthier is a lot easier than you would think, and can be done simply by following the advice above. Say, for instance, you’re a smoker, by quitting smoking you’ll have more money each month to use for other things. Or how about choosing to walk instead of drive to save money and become healthier?
Of course, effective budgeting is another simple way to ensure that you have more money in the bank. If you’re someone who likes to splash out, perhaps it might be worth being more careful about what you’re spending and only spending what you need. Look for better rates on your mortgage, electricity and gas, internet and mobile phone providers and insurances. Do you really need all of the streaming services or can you do with just one?
If you are a coffee drinker, make your own coffee at home instead of buying from cafes and you will be surprised how much you save over a year. Same goes with takeaway meals. It’s cheaper and actually quicker to make something yourself. If you are going to get take away, however, don’t use services like Uber Eats etc. You will find the pricing is a lot more expensive than ordering directly from the restaurant itself. For example, our local Chinese restaurant is a few minutes drive away for our house. I have compared the prices on their takeaway menu, compared to the delivery app menu and there is at least a $5 per dish price difference. Plus you have to add delivery fees etc and it can become quite expensive.
Making small changes, like the above, should give you more money in the bank.
So there you have it, how to end the year happier, healthier and wealthier.
