WSS Entertainment: Planning on Going to a Gig?
These days socialising has become even more popular than it was. You might be planning a weekend away, or you could be thinking about going to a gig. If you’re planning on going to a gig you need to do a bit of planning. It’s important to do what you can to ensure the occasion is as enjoyable as possible. So, the best way of doing this is to think about the elements involved in attending a concert. Check out some of my suggestions to help you plan the perfect trip to your next gig.
Bring Some Friends
Attending the gig of your favourite band is awesome, but it’s more awesome doing it with your friends in tow. Perhaps there is a band that all of you are interested in and would like to go and see. Speak to your friends about it when you first hear about the possibility of a concert happening. Then you can decide if you want to go or not. You’ll also have much more time to plan for the day and night in question. It might be an idea to take the following day off work depending upon where the gig is. Going to a concert with friends is the best way to enjoy any kind of live event.
Book the Tickets
Okay, next thing up, you need to book the tickets for the gig. Now, this can often be a difficult and time-consuming process. If you are booking for a festival, or a foreign band doing a world tour, the tickets are likely to be in high-demand. You need to make sure you book before they sell out and that you don’t get ripped off in the process. Cheap concert tickets are available but you need to search for them. Make sure you take advantage of these as soon as you can so you and your friends can benefit.
Have Dinner Beforehand
If you’re planning to attend a gig, you may want to make and evening of it. A lot of these concerts will open their doors around seven o’clock, but there’s bound to be a support act or two on first. So, why not use this as an opportunity for you and your friends to have dinner beforehand? Going for something to eat after the gig is not feasible because it will be too late. So, make sure you go beforehand so you have something to soak up the beer! Gigs can last for quite a while, and you don’t want to be going hungry. Sure, you could always get food there, but many of these venues are very expensive, and you may want to keep all your money for booze!
Brush up on the Back Catalogue
It’s very important that you revisit the music of the group you’re going to see. Sure, they might be touring a new record that has only just come out. But they will almost certainly play some old favourites as well. That’s why it’s a great idea to brush up on the back catalogue in preparation for the upcoming gig. You’ll want to be able to reel off what songs are being played as well as singing along to some of the group’s anthems. Dig out your favourite albums, warm up the CD player, and make a day of it.
Going to gigs is one of the most popular pastimes of today. There are so many great acts out there that we are spoilt for choice these days. With different festivals popping up all over the place there has never been a better time to go to gigs. If you’re planning on attending a show, you need to make the most of it, and that means planning the evening properly.
Have a great night!
