We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but is your breakfast as healthy as it should be?
We are huge fans of bircher muesli, yogurt and muesli and smoothies for breakfast but we weren’t receiving the amount of nutrients we could have been.
Blackmores have recently launched their new Superfoods + Nature Boost range offering six nutritional powders suitable for a host of recipes including; single origin cacao, chia, matcha green tea, coconut water, super greens and a wild blueberry blend. We have shared our favourite recipes from Blackmores below:
To serve, combine Blackmores Wild Blueberry Blend and Blackmores Coconut Water with the quinoa porridge base, natural yoghurt, lemon rind, shredded coconut, lemon thyme and goji berries. I also added my favourite seeds and some sultanas.
Breakfast Superfood Mud Bowl
●125ml (1/2 cup) almond milk
●80g (1/2 cup) Blackmores Raw Chia
●2 frozen bananas
●2 tbsBlackmores Single Origin Cacao
●2 tbs maple syrup or raw honey
●1/2 tps ground cinnamon
●200ml coconut water
●1/2 cup ice
●100g activated almonds
●1/2tbs bee pollen
●1 tsp toasted coconut
●1 tbs goji berries
Put the almond milk in a jug and add the chia seeds. Stir until the mixture begins to thicken and set aside for 10 minutes.
Put the bananas, avocado, Blackmores Single Origin Cacao, maple syrup, cinnamon, coconut water and ice in a high-speed
blender and blend until smooth.
Add the almond milk and Blackmores Raw Chia and pulse a few times until just combined.
Add a little more ice or frozen banana if you’re after a thicker consistency.
To serve, spoon into a cold bowl and sprinkle over with toppings of your choice.
Banana Matcha Whip
● Zest, rind, juice of 1 lemon
● 1 tbs honey
● 1/2 tsp ginger juice (grate fresh ginger)
● 3 frozen bananas, halved
● 1tbs Blackmores Matcha Green Tea
● 1tbs Blackmores Raw Chia
Put all the ingredients in a food processor and process until just smooth (don’t over process or bananas will melt). Resist the temptation to eat the mixture, and put it in an airtight container and freeze. Store in the freezer for up to 2 months. If you like, you can give it another very quick buzz in the food processor before you eat it.
