Most of us would agree that life is just too short to be miserable all the time. Perhaps you’re not unhappy at all. But are you really happy? Surely we all have the right to feel fabulous every day? So what’s stopping you? It could be more than you think:
Pain causes misery. Having pain in your body can be the undoing of a perfectly good day. And more often than not, pain hangs around for quite a long time. Injuries and conditions like a herniated disc can cause so much pain that you feel like your whole life has to be put on hold. When you can’t enjoy the simple things in life, then suddenly life isn’t fun at all.
Don’t accept pain as the norm. While your condition may not be cured overnight, there are plenty of things to offer you some pain relief. One of the best is gentle stretching and exercise. See your doctor for advice about the best options available to you.
Stress is common. We all get stressed about the little things as well as the big things. Even our kids can be a cause. Stress comes when we feel like we can’t manage a situation to bring about a preferred outcome. So let go of the preferences. That may be easier said than done, but we are all capable of accepting alternatives. If your kids are throwing a tantrum in the supermarket, let them have their moment. It saves you getting down on the floor and begging them to stop when you know that doesn’t work.
You can’t do everything alone, but trying to do it all will cause more stress and less productivity. So stop, breathe, and prioritize. Pick just half of the tasks you want to get done. Leave the rest. They’ll be done when the timing is better. Use meditation to find your ‘center’ once again, and relax.
Not all of us are lucky enough to be in a job we love. Some people work in jobs with a boss from hell and no chance of things improving. Feel fabulous today by dusting off the resume and applying for something new. If you’re in work ten hours a day feeling completely miserable, now is the time to be proactive. Nothing makes you feel more fabulous than being invited to a job interview!
Struck down with a cold, or suffering from a long-term condition can leave you feeling awful. But even when you’re down to your last tissue, you can still feel fabulous. Make a hearty homemade soup or fruit smoothie to give you that fresh injection of good stuff. All those vitamins and minerals will help boost your immune system, and they taste pretty yummy too.
We all have off days. Sometimes we even have a few in a row. But each of us has the power to feel fabulous again. Being proactive and facing our challenges can help boost our self-confidence and put that smile back on our faces. So go for it, and don’t let anything get in your way!
