8 Amazing Ways to Learn to Love Yourself

love yourself

Learning to love yourself is a skill that lots of women never quite master. Although it doesn’t come naturally to all women, it’s something that can definitely be learned. You just need to make sure that you practice it each day to get used to it. Once you’ve learned to love yourself, your life will transform in ways you never could have imagined! Here are just 8 ways you can learn to love yourself:

Stop Negative Thinking Patterns

If you’ve been thinking negatively for a while, it can be difficult to snap out of it. However, you need to put the effort in to stop if you’re going to learn to love yourself. Try to turn a negative thought into a positive thought. If a negative thought does pop into your head, don’t entertain it, just let it pass. Try to fill your head with positive thoughts instead.

Talk to Yourself Like a Friend

We all have an inner monologue, and sometimes it can be more harmful than helpful. Talk to yourself like a friend to help learn to love yourself. You wouldn’t call your best friend all of the horrible things you call yourself, so stop! Be your own best friend and your life will really improve.

Make a List of Things You Like

There must be at least a handful of things you like about yourself. Start by making a list and then expanding on it. If you want to keep adding to it as time goes on, then do so. Make the list as long as you like, so you can look back on it when you’re feeling low.

See Yourself as a Whole

When you look in the mirror, stop focusing on your flaws. So many people do this and fail to see the bigger picture. Try to see yourself as a whole, rather than flaw after flaw. This is how other people see you!

Reward Yourself

Reward yourself when you deserve it. If you’ve stopped thinking negatively most of the time, treat yourself to a new dress. If you want to feel really good about yourself and boost your confidence, look into something like boudoir photography. You deserve it!

Embrace the Unique Things About You

Life would be boring if we were all the same. Embrace the unique things about you. Even things you may not have liked in the past. So what if you have big feet? They’re your big feet! So what if you don’t have the longest eyelashes, or you have freckles/moles. See them as the finer details that make you wonderfully you.

Listen to Compliments and Take them In

Believe it or not, most people sincerely mean compliments when they give them. Listen and take them in!

Get Therapy

Get therapy if you feel you need it to help you think a different way. Therapists can help us to get perspective on our lives, sometimes much better than we can on our own.

Practice makes perfect, especially in this situation. Good luck!
