The Ultimate Silky Smooth Skin Guide!

smooth skin

What woman doesn’t want gorgeous, silky smooth skin? We all do, though many find it difficult to achieve. This might be down to having dry, flaky patches, or not knowing which hair removal technique is right for them. Regardless of your issue, the ultimate silky smooth skin guide will help you!

Know Your Skin Type

If you don’t know your skin type, you won’t be able to make your skin as flawless as you want it to be. Take a look online for some descriptions to help you, go to see a professional at a makeup counter or visit a beauty therapist. They’ll be able to help analyse your skin and give your some advice. The skin on your face might be different to that on your body, so bear that in mind. You might even have combination skin, with different types in different places on your face! It isn’t always simple. Your skin can also change depending on the season, so don’t just assume it’s the same as it was a few months ago. You need to keep an eye on it as best you can to get the best results!

Use Products to Suit Your Skin Type

Now that you know your skin type, you need to use products to suit your skin type. If you use products just because you like the packaging, you could end up hindering your skin and making it worse. Research the products best for your individual skin type and try them. I once ended up making my skin greasy from using very creamy anti ageing products – they didn’t suit my skin type! Cleanse, tone, and moisturise with suitable products twice a day. Keep it up and you should notice a difference in no time at all!

Don’t Spend Too Long in the Shower or Bath

If you spend too long in the shower or bath, it can be easy to dry your skin out and make it flaky. This is especially true if you make it really hot! Avoid spending too long in there and always moisturise afterwards.

Find the Right Method of Hair Removal for You

Finding the right method of hair removal for you will leave your skin feeling amazing. There are so many methods to choose from. Shaving is probably the most simple and painless, but there are other options that last longer. Laser hair removal is expensive but can be permanent. Waxing lasts a couple of weeks, but can be quite painful. If you keep it up, you might experience permanent hair loss. It all depends on your budget, hair type, and how much time you have! It’s always best to consult a professional when you’re confused.

Exfoliate Regularly

Exfoliate your skin regularly to get rid of any nasty dead skin cells and give your skin a nice glow. It reveals new cells, so your skin will feel and look great immediately. You can afford to use a rougher skin on your body, but faces can be sensitive. Make sure you don’t scrub your skin raw, or you could end up in pain. Do it at least once a week, but up to three times depending on your skin type.

Use an SPF

SPF will protect your skin from sun damage. Sun damage can happen regardless of the weather outside, so don’t underestimate it. You won’t always see the damage until it’s too late either! Using a regular SPF will make your skin lovely and smooth with no premature wrinkles or sun spots. You can also wear protective clothing, but always protect your hands and face! These show signs of ageing much quicker than other areas. Don’t leave it until it’s too late. Skin damage cannot be reversed, so you want to start as soon as possible!

Use Face and Body Masks

Face and body masks will help to give your skin an extra hit of moisture where it’s needed. They can also get rid of excess grease, reduce the look of wrinkles, and more. Make sure you buy a product that suits your skin type. Use a different mask for your body and face, as they are different, as previously mentioned. You’d probably use a more moisturising mask on your body than on your face. Once a week should be enough to make a difference!
