Forgive yourself

The point is, that we all have regrets and forgiving yourself and moving on is a sure fire way to boost your mental health and make you feel more fulfilled.

Look after yourself

One of the first steps to take in being kinder to yourself is to look after yourself. So that means getting enough sleep, exercising or just moving your body a little more each day, filling your plate with plenty of veggies and having fruit too. Make sure you’re getting all your vitamins and visit the dentist on the regular too. All these things sound basic, but that’s because they’re the foundation to a healthy, happy life.

Treat yourself

You don’t have to max out your credit card to spoil yourself, in fact I wouldn’t encourage it. However if there is something that you want then you should spoil yourself. Maybe bypass the designer shoes and handbags ad treat yourself to a new bra or set of sparkly socks. Whatever makes you smile. You deserve it.

Recognise your achievements

Always humble, always brushing off compliments and relentlessly applauding others for their achievements. But who’s blowing your trumpet? If you’ve done achieved something today and you’re feeling good, then take a moment to really congratulate yourself. Nailed that parallel park? Good for you! Ticked off all your to-do list this morning? Well done! Make sure you’re always aware of the little wins in your life.

Make time

You know what it’s like – there never seems to be enough hours in the day! But, once you’re done running around for everybody, bending over backwards at work for your boss and keeping your team happy then it’s time to do something for yourself instead. Pick up that paintbrush, read that book, listen to that podcast you’ve wanted to finish…however you like to treat yourself, find some time every day to do it!
