Monday Blues? Here Are 3 Ways to Feel Inspired for a Brand New Week

Weekends go by sooner than you might think, and before you know it, Monday is staring right at you! And for many of us, it might be a bit difficult to get over the Monday blues when you’re already struggling with lack of rest, work overload, or some unpleasant colleagues in the workplace.

So does the thought of waking up and getting ready for work make you uncomfortable? Does it make you feel stressed and anxious? Or do you find yourself utterly uninspired for the week ahead? If you answered these questions with a yes, then there is an excellent chance that you are already suffering from the Monday Blues. And if this is the case, here are three ways to help you find inspiration for a brand new week ahead. Let’s try to turn those blues into inspiration:

  1. Practice Mood-Lifting

A good mood is synonymous with improvement and productivity in both quantity and quality of work. However, that doesn’t mean you always need to feel optimistic because that won’t be realistic. But if you are dealing with sluggishness or lack of motivation towards your personal or professional goals, a quick mood lift could be a great way to get things started. For instance, you can begin your day by reading some exciting and Inspiring Stories when getting ready for the day. It will give your mood an instant boost while preparing you for the day ahead.

Need some more ideas to practice mood-lifting? You could also try these:

– Spend some time in nature and make sure you get some sunlight

– Look at some cute pictures or videos of animals on the internet

– Share some jokes with your friends at the workplace

– Exercise for a few minutes every day.

  1. Practice Gratitude (Including Yourself)

Practicing gratitude can lead to self-satisfaction and acceptance of the current situation. Yet, a few studies have shown otherwise. Feelings of gratitude can also make feel:

– Motivated for self-improvement

– Make us feel connected to people around us

– Enhance motivation over time, past the duration of practicing gratitude

– Fills you with a sense of wanting to give back

– Improves mental and physical health, along with the quality of sleep

There are more ways to foster an attitude of gratitude than one might imagine. Start spending the first five minutes of your day thinking about what you feel grateful for. Even better, write them down in a journal. Is there something or someone in your life you are particularly thankful for? Write them a letter expressing gratitude and their importance in your life.

  1. Change Your Environment

Sometimes a simple change of scenery can give you a fresh perspective and a new sense of motivation. This is known as the novelty effect – a short-term boost from changing your environment.

If you are studying or working from home, have a session at your local library instead. Do you always attend your lectures on your laptop? Try downloading them on your phone and watching them outside in a park. Simple changes can make a big difference.

Wrapping Up

Today we are all leading a busy lifestyle, and in this process, we sometimes lose all motivation and inspiration. As a result, our personal and professional lives become a little too complicated. However, you can quickly deal with this trivial situation in the aforementioned ways.
