A gym membership is a great way for many people to get active and connect with other fitness enthusiasts, but others may find that it isn’t the best option. Maybe you’re a parent who can’t leave the kids by themselves, you don’t have enough time, or you simply can’t afford a subscription. You’re not alone! Luckily, there are actually a number of ways you can work out at home and see fantastic results from your efforts.

Step it up a notch by integrating small equipment into your fitness routine. Simple movements can be made much harder by adding extra weight. And sometimes you don’t even need to buy anything new – a number of everyday household items can be re-purposed to aid your exercise routine. Grab a chair from your dining room and work on triceps, chest and back with chair presses, utilise some old textbooks as weights, or even just run up and down the stairs – don’t be afraid to get creative!
Invest in Bigger Equipment
Create the feeling of a gym at home by investing in some fitness equipment. Old favourites such as treadmills, elliptical machines and exercise bikes are fantastic and can be set up in front of the TV for an entertaining cardio session. Or maybe you’re into boxing?
