Do you feel down about your body? Do you wish you felt confident, but you feel something is stopping you? This guide will help you to start feeling more comfortable and confident in your body. Only you have the power to change the way you feel about yourself!
Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
The first thing you need to do is stop comparing yourself to others. There’s nothing you can do about your natural body shape, so you need to stop wishing you were somebody else or you had the body of somebody else. You can appreciate the beauty of another without wishing that you were them. Remember that!
See Yourself as a Whole
When we have things we see as flaws, it can be difficult to focus on anything else. We look in the mirror and automatically zoom in on those flaws. Try to make a conscious effort to see yourself as a whole. Look in the mirror and avoid looking at one particular area. The more you practice this, the easier it’ll come.
Focus on Your Good Bits
If you have bits you like, feel free to focus on them! You might lust after somebody else’s toned arms, but they might wish they had your bum. Focus on your good bits and think of them when you don’t feel so confident in yourself.
Think Positive Thoughts
Thinking positive thoughts can change your whole life. Sounds cheesy, but it’s so true! Start to think positive thoughts about yourself. Rather than self depreciating thoughts, be kind to yourself. Talk to yourself as if you were your own best friend. You wouldn’t say anything you say to yourself to a friend, so practice this. It might not come naturally, but it’ll get easier after time.
See a Professional
If there’s a valid reason you don’t feel comfortable with yourself, you could consider seeing a professional. Ideally, you’ll be in a good state of mind and the professional will be able to see this. Maybe you want a breast reduction, or a smoother nose. You need to do lots of research on the pros, cons, and aftercare. A breast reduction will require you to wear post surgery bras for a while. A nose job might leave you with lots of bruising. You need to be prepared for it all! The most important thing to remember is that surgery will not solve all of your problems!
Exercise and Eat Right
If you’re not confident in your body, one way you can start to feel better is by exercising and eating right. Rather than wishing you had a better body, do something about it! Your body will do things you never thought possible. Do some research, get a workout plan and overhaul your diet. Remember, you should aim to do it in the most healthy way possible!
