Not Feeling Your Usual Self? Here’s What You Can Do

We all experience days when we aren’t feeling quite right. Maybe we just feel slightly under the weather, or our body is feeling slightly more sluggish and lethargic than usual. Not sure why? The chances are all these negative feelings will pass. However, there are some things you can do to help cope with them and also try to get rid of them quicker.

Eat Plenty Of Fruit And Veg

Maybe you’re feeling this way because you’ve let your healthy eating habits slide recently? If you have been consuming more fatty or sugary foods than usual, it is worth being very strict with yourself for one day. Cut down on all the sugar and fat, and instead, spend the day filling up on fresh fruit and vegetable. Enjoy a healthy salad for lunch and have some steamed veggies with a piece of lean meat for dinner. Once your body gets all its required vitamins and minerals, it’ll start feeling better.

Take A Breather

One of the main reasons we sometimes feel rubbish is stress. If work has been getting on top of you lately, or your home life isn’t quite as happy as usual, think about taking a break. Book some time off from work and get away from it all. Spend a few days away relaxing on holiday. Once you get back, you will, hopefully, have returned to your usual self!

Try To Improve Your Sleep

How you sleep has a big effect on how you feel during the day. I’m sure you’ll have experienced a rough day after a terrible, sleepless night! Well, if your sleeping pattern isn’t what it should be, this could be causing you a lot of harm. So try to get your body clock in order. The best way to do this is to wind down before you get in bed. Read before you turn the lights out and ban all TV and computer screens from the bedroom!

Seek Medical Advice

If you haven’t felt yourself for a week or more, it is a good idea to see your doctor. There may be an underlying condition affecting you. He or she will be able to give you a diagnosis and let you know what you can do to get back on track.

Get Fit

Even if you don’t feel like it, it is important to stay active. No matter how lethargic you may be feeling! Getting out and about is a great way to get some fresh air, and will also promote healthy living. Your heart and lungs will be working to their best efforts, which is a great way to keep them happy and healthy!

So next time you wake up and don’t feel too great, don’t worry about it. There are plenty of ways you can make yourself feel better. And failing that, there’s always your doctor who can help!
